Travis joined the team after retiring from a successful teaching career in 2021, trading classrooms for construction sites. With 25 years of part-time residential construction experience under his tool belt, Travis brings impressive skills in framing and finish carpentry to the table–or rather, builds the table from scratch.

What drew Travis to our team? The flexible schedules and the chance to spend his days surrounded by sawdust and camaraderie. Despite being the quietest member on the construction crew, Travis fits right in, balancing out the group with his steady, can-do attitude.

Born, raised, and still residing in Plainwell, Travis lives with his wife, Shelly, and enjoys time with their three children, Drake, Jaidin, and Raygen, and five grandchildren. When he’s not working or coaching girls’ wrestling at Plainwell High School, you can find him outside, enjoying nature–or sweating it out in the sauna he built himself.
