Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the industry, Shelby gained experience working in her family’s real estate appraisal business and managing their portfolio of vacation rental properties. This early exposure sparked her passion for real estate and urban planning.

Shelby took that passion to Virginia Tech, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy and Planning. She later worked in her hometown’s Planning and Zoning Department, where she honed her skills in urban planning and GIS. After graduating, Shelby swapped small-town for the big city, living and working in Chicago before finding her way to Kalamazoo in 2015.

Now, Shelby keeps us all running smoothly, whether she’s buried in spreadsheets, mastering QuickBooks, or making bank runs–all while being perpetually handed a receipt. (Seriously, she’s probably being handed one right now.) In her free time, she loves chasing after her two dogs, traveling, and staying active in the Kalamazoo Rugby Community, with her husband Andy.
